We're Going to London! Cawsburger is a National Burger Awards 2026 Finalist

The secret is out, and we are absolutely buzzing. Cawsburger has been named a finalist in the National Burger Awards 2026!

On 24th March, we'll be heading to Big Penny Social in London to represent Hitchin on the national stage. This isn't just a fancy dinner and a trophy presentation; it's a full-blown live cook-off where we'll be going head-to-head with 15 of the best burger spots in the country; from legendary London names like Bleecker and Honest Burgers to regional heavyweights from across the UK.

No Gimmicks, Just The Cawsburger

When it came to deciding which burger to enter, there was never really a question. We aren't interested in "smoke and mirrors" or over-the-top toppings that look better on Instagram than they taste in real life.

We're taking The Cawsburger.

It's the burger that built this place. It's a single dry-aged beef patty, our famous burger sauce, crisp lettuce, house pickles, and American cheese, all tucked into a demi-brioche bun. It's simple, it's classic, and it's the burger so many of you have smashed on a Friday night since we first opened our doors in Churchyard.

What Happens at the Final?

Our chefs will be put through their paces in three intense rounds:

  1. The Signature Round: Cooking The Cawsburger exactly as you know and love it.

  2. The Technical Round: Creating a masterpiece on the fly using a mystery box of sponsor ingredients.

  3. The Plant-Based Round: Showing the judges what we can do with a meat-free challenge.

A Huge Thank You to Hitchin

We say it all the time, but we really couldn't have done this without you. To everyone who has queued outside, tagged us in your photos, and supported a local independent business; this one is for you. We're incredibly proud to be "repping" Hitchin in the capital.

Wish us luck! We'll be sure to bring some of that Hitchin energy to the Big Smoke.
