When we're not busy grilling patties and melting cheese, our team loves to get out and enjoy what our fellow locals have to offer. So, we wanted to share some of our team's go-to spots right here on our doorstep for a proper good drink.

For the Craft Beer Connoisseur: The Beer Shop

If you live and breathe craft beer, this is your paradise. Located on Hermitage Road, The Beer Shop is a haven for anyone looking to discover something new. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, and their ever-changing lineup on the taps means there's always a new IPA, stout, or sour to try. It's a relaxed, friendly spot where the beer is the star of the show.

For the Classic Pub Experience (with a great garden!): The Victoria

Known to everyone locally as 'The Vic', this pub on Ickleford Road is a true Hitchin institution. It has everything you want from a proper British pub: a welcoming atmosphere, a great selection of real ales, and a fantastic, sprawling beer garden that's one of the best around on a sunny afternoon. With regular live music and a friendly crowd, it's a reliable spot for a classic pub experience.

For a Historic Pub with a Modern Twist: The Kite at The Red Hart

Right in the heart of the town square, The Kite beautifully blends historic charm with a modern, quality feel. Step inside this gorgeous old building and you'll find cozy nooks, a bustling atmosphere, and a bar stocked with the good stuff. They take their drinks seriously, with well-kept real ales, a thoughtful selection of craft beer, and a top-shelf gin collection. It's a superb all-rounder.

For the Wine Lover: Wee Vinoteca

An intimate gem on Bucklersbury that we absolutely adore. As the name suggests, Wee Vinoteca is a small and mighty wine bar and shop. This is the place to go when you want to explore incredible wines without any pretence. The team is wonderfully approachable and will happily guide you to the perfect glass of red, white, or rosé. Grab a seat, order a cheese board (you know we love cheese!), and let them help you discover your new favourite bottle.

For a Stylish Cocktail: Hermitage Rd. Bar & Restaurant

When the occasion calls for something a little more refined, we head to Hermitage Rd. Set in a stunningly converted old ballroom, the atmosphere alone is worth the visit. Their bar staff are masters of their craft, mixing up an impressive menu of classic and inventive cocktails. It's the ideal spot for a date night or a celebratory drink with friends.
